Everton reportedly have struck a deal with Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun with an announcement expected to be made in the coming few hours.

A report in the Turkish-Football had earlier stated that the Toffees were leading the race to sign the 26-year-old and now the same source is of the view that Everton have indeed signed Tosun.

Tosun joined Besiktas in 2014 and in these four seasons he has managed to score 62 goals in just 139 matches for the Black Eagles. This season alone he has clocked up 12 goals and 3 assists in just 21 games.

This impressive run of form meant that a lot of Premier League clubs were interested in signing the forward. Clubs like Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Chelsea had all shown interest in the 26-year-old. And Besiktas’ general secretary Ahmet Urkmezgil even went on record to say that Chelsea were keeping tabs on the player.

Now though it seems that the Toffees have bagged the goal machine for a reported fee of about €25 million with the contract expected to be for 4.5 years.
