Everton handed Pep Guardiola his heaviest league defeat till date as Man City lost  4-0 at the Goodison.

New Tom in the City:

Manchester City was carved open by young Tom Davies. The 18-year-old Evertonian Academy graduate looked sparkling right from the very beginning, tormenting the city back line. And his efforts and hard work paid off when he scored after neatly chipping Claudio Bravo.

Manchester City looked slow, sluggish and out of context. They were suddenly taken head on by Everton and Guardiola’s side failed to come up with a suitable answer.

Morgan Schneiderlin made his first appearance for Everton as he came to replace Kevin Mirallas in the 65th minute.

The other goal scorers for Everton were Romelu Lukaku (34′), Kevin Mirallas (47′) and Ademola Lookman (90+4′)

Pep feels the heat:

This is by far the biggest test that Pep Guardiola has faced during his managerial career. It looks as if Guardiola is stuck with an average City team who are currently unable to churn out performances week in week out. This is indeed a whole new scenario for Pep as no other league in the world is as demanding. Both physically and mentally.

Guardiola will definitely look forward to bringing in summer reinforcements. But right now his main focus has to be that top four finish at least if not title contenders.
