Chelsea qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League with a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid but Conte’s men failed to secure top spot in their group. And Tiemoue Bakyoko was at fault for conceding the only goal of the game.

Bakayoko lost his focus as a result of which Atletico’s Saul Niguez found space in Chelsea’s penalty area after which he headed the ball into the back of the net.

And speaking after the match former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has blasted the summer signing for being lazy on the pitch and losing his focus during crunch times.

“He sleeps,” he said. “His concentration goes and at this level, if you sleep for a second and it’s an easy goal for Atletico.

“I don’t know with Bakayoko. I think it’s well documented that he hasn’t settled quickly at Chelsea and English football in the Premier League as well and he has to come to grips with that.

“A moment’s sleeping today doesn’t work so he needs to improve but he’s [Antonio Conte] got options. [Danny] Drinkwater will play as well but hopefully, Bakayoko will improve.”
