Ghanian left-back Abdul Baba Rahman was spotted in first team training this week as he nears his return from injury.

The full-back was sent out on loan to German side Schalke 04 last season but the stint was cut short after he tore his anterior cruciate ligaments at the African Cup of Nations.

The left-back joined Chelsea in 2015 from Augsburg but has made just 15 league appearances for the Blues and failed to impress Antonio Conte upon his appointment last summer.

He has not been included in Chelsea’s Champions League as well as Premier League squad and if indications are to be sensed, he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

Clubs in Turkey are allowed to make signings until the 8th of September. According to reports, Galatasaray are in talks with Chelsea to take either one of Baba Rahman or Kennedy on loan this season.

It has been suggested that 23-year-old Rahman, who has been left out of Chelsea’s Premier League squad, is their No.1 target.

It has been reported that their sporting director Cenk Ergun is holding talks with Chelsea and hopes to have one of them through the door by the end of the week.

The Ghanaian spent time on loan at Schalke last season, making 13 appearances in the Bundesliga, and the Turkish giants reckon he can do a job for them.

In the eventuality that Rahman stays back at Stamford Bridge, he will have to train extremely hard and prove his fitness and worth to the team. He cannot, however, make an appearance for the Blues until January as he has not been registered for the squad even though the likes of Loic Remy and Diego Costa have been included. He could have provided decent cover to Marcos Alonso along with Brazilian youngster Kennedy had he been named in the squad.

A host of Chelsea stars are currently on international duty, meaning Conte has had a depleted group to work with at the side’s training ground this week.

Nevertheless, photos from training showed Rahman alongside the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Danny Drinkwater and new signing Kylian Hazard at Cobham.

Youngster Kyle Scott was also spotted amidst the boys as Conte tries to drill the men at his disposal for the next match.

Chelsea take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium after the international break and will be hoping to build on consecutive wins in the Premier League.
