Gabriel Jesus suffers horrific injury during international duty

Man City forward Gabriel Jesus suffered a fractured eye socket during international duty.

Gabriel Jesus sustained the injury during Brazil’s international friendly against rivals Argentina in Australia. The fracture which was a result of a nasty collision with Man City teammate Nicolas Otamendi who caught his club mate with a trailing elbow and Jesus immediately collapsed on the ground.

The injury did not look too serious at first and the national team doctors suggested that it was just a cut near the eye. But medical scans later revealed that Jesus had indeed suffered a broken orbital bone.

But Brazil have not yet excluded Gabriel Jesus from their squad which is slated to face Australia in the next friendly. It is also believed that Brazil have contacted Man City and informed them about the nature of the injury. But this was before the medical scans had been done.

So clearly when the updated news filters in, Guardiola will not be a very happy man. Man City are preparing themselves for a huge season up ahead. And Pep definitely wants all of his stars players in peak form before the season starts. But now this injury will certainly but a few road blocks on the path of City’s pre-season preparations.
