During the start of the summer transfer window, Manchester United were heavily linked with Gareth Bale after news started surfacing that Zidane was ready to offload the Welshman to make way for Kylian Mbappe. But the negotiations got a bit complicated because Real Madrid wanted David De Gea as part of the deal – a demand that United just refused to meet.

But ever since Manchester United came to know that Ivan Perisic will be staying at Inter Milan the club have reignited their interest for the Welshman. And reports suggesting that Madrid were close to signing Mbappe just added fuel to the fire. Now according to the Don Balon, Gareth Bale has told his close friend Luka Modric that he wants to leave the Los Blancos in the summer.

As per the news, Bale shared this bit of information with Modric over Whatsapp. The 28-year-old feels that Madrid are on the verge of signing Kylian Mbappe as a result of which he wants to leave the Bernabeu and is willing to hear the offer that Manchester United have for him.

This though comes after a piece of news which suggested that Gareth Bale was staying at Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane assured the Welshman that he was one of the club’s biggest assets. The Real coach also allegedly assured the player that they will not be going after Mbappe this summer.

But now this Whatsapp story has once again turned everything on its head.
