Manchester United played their first Champions League game since 2015 and came out with all three points against FC Basel. The Red Devils won the match at Old Trafford 3-0 thanks to goals from Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford. Even though the victory was not a very flashy one but Jose Mourinho’s team did the job.

But by the looks of it, the United manager is not at all happy with his team’s performance. Speaking to the media, Mourinho said that his team played Play Station football for the final parts of the game. According to the Portuguese, as soon as his team went 2-0 up they stopped playing and made a series of rash decisions on the pitch which could have cost them the match.

Mourinho labelled his teams performance during the final quarter of the match as fantasy football which involved too many tricks and flicks and very little serious football.

Mourinho said, “Three points are important at home. Until 2-0 we were very stable, we played with confidence. After 2-0 everything changed. We stopped playing, we stopped thinking, we stopped playing seriously, stopped making the right decisions on the pitch.

“We could have put ourselves in trouble, but they didn’t score and we got the third. But it was bad decisions, fantasy football, PlayStation football, flicks and tricks. When we stop playing seriously, stop playing as a team, I don’t like it”
