Serie A Champions Juventus wanted to sign Liverpool’s Emre Can in August of this year but that deal somehow did not materialize. Now the sporting world believed that the Old Lady would come back for the German midfielder in January.

But Juventus’ chief executive Beppe Marotta has ruled out a move for the 23-year-old in the January transfer window. Marotta admitted that the club had made a bid for the player during the summer but Liverpool did not sell him, so he is pretty confident that the Merseyside Reds will not part ways with Can during the middle of the season.

While speaking to Premium Sport, Marotta said, “We don’t think we are going to make a big signing in January.”

“We made an offer for him in the summer but the Reds didn’t sell him so I don’t think they’ll change their mind in the middle of the season.”, Marotta added.

It is now pretty clear that Juve will not be making a move for the German International during January but a few sources in Italy believe that the Old Lady have not fully given up on signing him. As per a few reports, the Serie A Champions will once again make a move for the midfielder during the next summer transfer window.
