Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suddenly been dealt a fresh blow as midfielder Adam Lallana looks all set to be sidelined for atleast a couple of months after sustaining a thigh injury.

Liverpool Football Club released an official statement breaking the news about the English International’s injury.

The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp while speaking to the club’s official website said, “This is certainly not news we would have wanted.

“Unfortunately, the damage is such that it will likely mean Adam is out for a couple of months not weeks, so I think we can pretty much rule him out of August and September.

“Beyond that we will monitor and wait and see. He is a boy with a world-class attitude to everything professionally and he has always come back in good time from injury setbacks since I have been here, so we will see.”

Lallana sustained the injury while playing for Liverpool against Atletico Madrid in the Audi Cup final on Wednesday. At first, the injury was thought to be of a minor nature – meaning that Lallana would be sidelined for a few weeks. But now after properly diagnosing the injury the club’s medical staff have said that Lallana will be out of action until September.

Liverpool are sure to miss out on a very important player who scored 8 goals and had 7 assists throughout the whole of last season. And add to this the fact that Naby Keita is also far off from joining Liverpool and the Reds look to be in a fair amount of midfield crisis.
