Liverpool played their first home game of the season in Gameweek 2 against Crystal Palace. And Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to pick up their first win of the season thanks to 1-0 scoreline in their favour.

We take a look at Liverpool’s players’ ratings vs Crystal Palace.

Simon Mignolet – 6/10

The Liverpool No 1 was a spectator for most of the match apart from that one save that he had to make towards the end of the first 45 minutes.

Joel Matip – 7/10

Should have scored in the first half but put his header wide. Other than that he had no attacking contribution. Matip was solid defensively but he was not troubled too much thanks to the non-attacking mindset of the Palace players.

Joe Gomez – 6.5/10

Had nothing much to do defensively but contributed a fair amount in the attacks.

Ragnar Klavan – 6/10

The only problem that Ragnar had was the fact that Loftus-Cheek went past him at every opportunity he got. And he could do very little about it.

Andrew Robertson – 8.5/10

Liverpool look to have a solid left-back at their disposal. The 23-year-old looked sharp and provided a fair bit of contribution to every attacking threat that started from the left hand side of the pitch.

Jordan Henderson – 5.5/10

Not a match to remember for Jordan Henderson. The English International had absolutely no contribution the attacking play that Liverpool conjured.

Wijnaldum – 5/10

Started the match brightly but his graph started dipping with each passing minute.

James Milner – 7/10

Gave away a bunch of silly fouls throughout the match but other than that he was easily the best midfielder for Liverpool on the night.

Roberto Firmino – 7/10

Looked a dull shadow of his usual self for the better part of the match. But once he shifted to the centre forward position, he impacted the game much more.

Sadio Mane – 8/10

Scored the only goal of the night for Liverpool and apart from that made some nice forward runs as well.

Daniel Sturridge – 6/10

Made his first start of the season and got only 60 minutes of football. But in this hour he provided a lot of options for Liverpool while going forward. From playing on the defenders’ shoulders to coming deep to build up play, Sturridge did it all.

Substitutes:

Mohamed Salah – 6.5/10

Came on to replace Daniel Sturridge on the hour mark. But apart for header did not impact the game much.

Dominic Solanke – 6.5/10

Played his part in the goal. No significant contribution other than that.

Dejan Loveren – N/A
