Liverpool’s predicted line up vs Sevilla: Coutinho back in contention?

Liverpool will look to keep their weekend woes aside and make a bold statement in their return to the Champions League.

The Reds take on Sevilla in the first round of group stages and after such a humiliating defeat at the hands of Manchester City during the weekend, Jurgen Klopp will hopefully field a very strong side. And this invariably means that Philippe Coutinho will make a return to the first eleven after missing the first four games of the new season due to a back injury.

Here’s Liverpool’s predicted line up vs Sevilla:

Goalkeeper:

Simon Mignolet returned to the first team during the weekend after being rested for the Arsenal game but he will most likely be warming the bench again tomorrow as Loris Karius will be handed goalkeeping duties.

Loris Karius

Defence:

Jurgen Klopp, will make a couple of changes in his defensive line up as both Dejan Lovren and Andrew Robertson will be handed starts against the Spanish outfit. This means that Ragnar Klavan will make way for Lovren in central midfield while Alberto Moreno will hand over his left-back duty to Andrew Robertson.

Trent Alexander Arnold and Joel Matip will keep their place at right-back and central defense respectively.

Arnold – Matip – Lovren – Robertson

Midfield:

Liverpool are going to go with a very similar midfield to the one that got a 5 goal thrashing from Manchester City during the weekend – with one major change. Both Emre Can and Jordan Henderson are going to keep their place in the first eleven and will most definitely start against Sevilla. The only major change will be that Wijnaldum is going to be benched as Philippe Coutinho is going to make a comeback to the playing eleven. Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Brazilian is in contention for the midweek fixture and will most likely start the match.

Can – Henderson – Coutinho

Attack:

Sadio Mane’s red card against Man City has only affected his domestic schedule meaning that he will be available for the European night. Mohamed Salah and Firmino are going to start alongside the Senegalese International.

Salah – Firmino – Mane
