Phil Jones and Fabian Delph have both returned to Manchester after they were ruled out of the World Cup Qualifiers for England due to injury.

Phil Jones and Fabian Delph did report to St. George’s Park on Sunday but the players did not take part in the Monday training session. They will now be returning back to their respective clubs where they will carry on their rehabilititation process.

This injury concern poses a problem for the Manchester teams. If Jones’ injury is serious then Jose Mourinho will miss out on one half of his in-form centre back. And as far as Fabian Delph is concerned then Manchester City are also short in numbers at the back with Vincent Kompany also returning back to Manchester from the Belgium squad.

The FA released a statement on Monday which read, “Delph and Jones had reported to St. George’s Park on Sunday evening but after being assessed before training on Monday, it was felt best they return to Manchester City and Manchester United respectively for treatment.”
