Man City are angry with Arsenal for not selling Sanchez and this is what they intend to do

Manchester made a deadline day move for long term target Alexis Sanchez. The move seemed likely to go through as planned but fell through at the last minute due to Arsenal not being able to find an appropriate replacement in time.

Chilean newspaper El Mercurio claims Pep Guardiola and his Etihad bosses are now considering legal action over the botched £60million transfer.

Sanchez took time away from his international camp to address the situation and it was understood that the move would be completed before he faced Paraguay that night.

City had sent top officials to Chile in order to complete the process smoothly before Chile’s world cup qualifier.

Sadly for Sanchez, the move fell apart after the Gunners failed to convince French sensation Thomas Lemar to come to London.

To add salt to his wounds, Chile were swept away by a clinical and rampant Paraguay side 3-0.

Wenger was in the stands to watch his No1 target destroy Holland in a 4-0 win – bagging a brace in France – and it must have been painful for the Gunners boss to see.

But that will be no consolation to Man City who thought they were on to a winner having started negotiations with Arsenal at the start of the summer.

Sanchez apparently is extremely pissed with how the whole situation panned out and reportedly told Arsenal that he will not play for them again this season and wants to leave at any cost in January.

By then he will only have six months remaining on his contract with the North London club and is likely to cost a lot less than the £60m they were prepared to pay this week.

Both City and Arsenal are blaming each other for the shambolic affair on the deadline day, but both Sanchez and his agent believe it is the Londoners in the wrong.

The report claims that while it is not expected that Sanchez will carry out his threat and go on strike, Arsenal now face a tricky proposition in keeping the star forward happy during the final year of his contract.

City will return for Sanchez in the January transfer window, with the ex-Udinese forward telling Wenger he was eager to leave after the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last Sunday.

With Sanchez set to leave at the end of the season at the conclusion of his contract, he could sign a deal with City worth £300,000-a-week and work with Guardiola, with whom he worked with during the pair’s time together at Barcelona.
