It looks as if West Brom have failed to hold onto their captain Jonny Evans as the central defender is all set to move out of the club in January – as per reports.

The Northern Ireland International has been the subject of transfer interest from a series of Premier League clubs with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester City placing unsuccessful bids to sign the 29-year-old during the summer.

But the Baggies fought hard to hold onto their player hoping that he will sign a new deal but as things stand Evans will be entering his final 18 months of his current contract and he has refused to put pen on paper to a new deal.

So West Brom now have no choice but to cash in on him during the January transfer window. The Baggies had set a price tag of £30 million for the central defender but now looking at his contract situation West Brom will be ready to accept anything in the region of £20 million.

Manchester City and Arsenal still hold a substantial interest in the player and are sure to launch bids during the January window. Manchester United might also come back for their former player whom they released during the Van Gaal era – this after current manager Jose Mourinho admitted that the club should not have sold off Evans.
