A completely dominant performance by Man City at Rotterdam as they beat Feyenoord by 4 goals to nil.

John Stones gave City the lead after just two minutes, their fastest ever Champions League before Aguero doubled their lead after 10 minutes, then Gabriel Jesus scored on his Champions League debut to make it three, the Stones scored his second to cap-off the victory for Manchester City.

The thumping victory in the opening game and a clean sheet will surely please Guardiola as he looks to challenge in Europe.

Here are the Man City players’ ratings vs Feyenoord:

Ederson – 6.5/10

Had his face protected by a scrum cap as he saw out the game with no pressure whatsoever. Made a couple of good passes when the ball was at his feet.

Kyle Walker – 7.5/10

Strolled up and down the right flank and caused Feyenoord all sorts of trouble. Earned an assist as Aguero converted from his cross.

John Stones – 8.5/10

Two cracking headers from the Englishman to make sure City do not miss the services of Vincent Kompany in the box. Great in the air and cut Feyenoord off whenever they looked to start a move. Top display.

Nicolas Otamendi – 7/10

Did not make any high-risk challenges as he had a rather comfortable night after the embarrassing first half against Liverpool.

Benjamin Mendy – 8/10

His menacing pace caused problems all night for Van Bronckhorst’s side. His crossing and low balls in the area have given City a whole new dimension. His crashing drive led to Jesus’ goal.

Fernandinho -7.5/10

Another comfortable and solid display as he allowed City’s talented attacking players to do their job while he did the dirty work when needed.

David Silva – 8/10

Set the ball rolling with his Cross for Stones for the opener. Another masterclass from the Spanish genius alongside his Belgian partner in the middle of the park.

Kevin De Bruyne – 8.5/10

Created a plethora of chances throughout the game before he was finally rewarded with an assist for Stones’ second and City’s fourth.  Another impressive showing by the Belgian.

Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10

Slowly starting to show his quality and he can be a real force to reckon with when he gets on the same wavelength as David Silva and De Bruyne.

Gabriel Jesus – 8/10

Scored on his Champions League debut as he was in the right place at the right time as he so often is. Excellent link up play as well.

Sergio Aguero -8/10

Scored a customary goal and continuously gave the Feyenoord back line food for thought.

Substitutes:

Raheem Sterling – 7/10

After replacing Aguero on the hour mark, Sterling was lively and created problems for Feyenoord, despite the game already beginning to wind down.

Fabian Delph – 6/10

It was a solid, if not spectacular, display for Delph’s first appearance of the season, as he replaced David Silva on 67 minutes.

Leroy Sane –N/A

Might have scored himself or assisted as he troubled the Dutch side with his pace.
