Man City’s players’ ratings vs Watford: The Citizens are turning into a juggernaut

Yet another strong showing from the boys in blue as they beat Watford 6-0 in an emphatic victory at Vicarage Road.

The Blues were coming off the back of an impressive week already with a 5-0 win over Liverpool and then a 4-0 win against Feyenoord in the Champions League and they capped off the week in scintillating fashion.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick for Guardiola’s men while Jesus, Otamendi, and Sterling also saw themselves get on the scoresheet.

Here are the Man City’s players’ ratings vs Watford:

Ederson – 6/10

A spectator to the carnage caused by his team’s attackers. As always, neat with his feet when required.

Kyle Walker – 7.5/10

Ran up and down as he troubled Watford’s left back throughout the game. Got himself an assist as he set up Aguero for his hat-trick goal.

John Stones – 8/10

Imperious performance at the centre of the defence. Exuded class throughout the game and brought the ball out well from the back.

Nicolas Otamendi – 8/10

Relieved to recover from the Salah nightmare. Not asked to do much defensively. Got himself a goal with a thumping header.

Benjamin Mendy – 7/10

Unlucky not to find an assist as he continuously stormed up and down the flank.

Fernandinho – 7.5/10

He is the silent guardian of this City side. Does all the dirty work while the attackers do the damage. Not as mobile as he would like but still as effective as ever.

David Silva – 8.5/10

Two more assists for Merlin as he continues to an impressive start to the campaign. Was as diligent on the ball as always.

Kevin De Bruyne – 8/10

Created the first goal with an absolute peach of a delivery from a free kick. Was probing and penetrating throughout the game before he was rested.

Raheem Sterling – 8.5/10

Back from his suspension, The England winger was full of running. He caused quite a few problems for the opposition but he needs to improve on his first touch. Scored a late penalty that he won himself, according to the manager’s instructions.

Gabriel Jesus – 8/10

Improving at such a young age as he keeps adding different dimensions to his game. Scored City’s third and was constantly involved before he was taken off for some well-deserved rest.

Sergio Aguero – 10/10

Unstoppable and literally unplayable. Scored the first with a classic header. Instinctive run led to his second before he smartly set up partner Jesus for one. Added a tremendous solo goal to cap off a brilliant performance as he heads to the top of the scoring charts.

Substitutes:

Bernardo Silva – 7/10

Was at par with the rest of his teammates from the moment he came onto the pitch.

Gundogan – 7.5/10

Came onto the pitch for De Bruyne and also pulled out a great pass for another substitute Leroy Sane on the 80-minute mark.

Leroy Sane – 7/10

As effective as anyone else.
