Man United To Trigger Contract Extension For This Defender But Only To Make More Money Out Of Him

Manchester United left-back Daley Blind might be on his way out of the club but the Red Devils do not want to sell him for free.

The Dutch International’s current contract with the club expires in the summer and no talks of a new deal are expected to commence any time soon. But according to the Times, United are going to trigger the automatic one-year extension clause in his contract just so that they can get a good deal out of him.

Blind has fallen down the pecking order as he has effectively lost his place at left-back to Ashley Young. Last season the versatile Dutchman did play a lot of games in central defence but that role too is out of the window – with so many defenders at Mourinho’s disposal this time around.

United are also planning to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur player Danny Rose who is an out and out left-back so Blind will basically be a nobody for Mourinho by the end of the season.

In such a scenario the Red Devils management have thought of offloading the player and it is being reported that the likes of Inter Milan and Fenerbahce have already shown an interest in the 27-year-old.
