Manchester United and Jose Mourinho would have been pretty excited when they got the news that their star striker Romelu Lukaku is not involved in Belgium’s first World Cup qualifier match during the international break.

Lukaku has been in fine form for the Red Devils but the 24-year-old has been nursing an ankle injury lately. And the United boss was evidently concerned over his star’s participation for Belgium. Roberto Martinez’s Belgium has already qualified for next year’s World Cup in Russia and that is one of the main reasons why the manager has decided to leave Lukaku behind as his team travelled to Sarajevo.

Lukaku will get a much-deserved rest but chances are that he will be included in Belgium’s next match against Cyprus. And Mourinho is not really convinced with this decision that is why he has ordered the Man Utd medical staff to keep in contact with the Belgium doctors over Lukaku’s recovery.

When the Premier League returns, Manchester United are set to take on their arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield. And Mourinho clearly does not want to miss out on Romelu Lukaku due to an injury.
