Manchester United are the highest earning football club in the world according to the Deloitte Football Money League. The list was dominated by Spanish giants Real Madrid for the past 11 consecutive years and this is the first time that someone has been able to overtake them in terms of revenue.

Deloitte Football Money League considers matchday revenues, broadcasting rights and commercial revenues to build the list. Last year Manchester United’s revenue was 395 million and this year it leapfrogged to 689 million pounds. This was more than substantial to take the English club to the first position followed by Catalan club Barcelona who maintain their second spot from last year.

German club Bayern Munich are fourth in the list just after Real Madrid who are third. Current Premier League Champions Leicester City also make it to the list in the 20th spot.

P.S. The Deloitte Football Money League does not consider transfer fees to make the list.
