Man Utd are preparing themselves for what is undoubtedly their biggest match of the season.

As Jose Mourinho and his men prepare themselves to take on Ajax at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, we take a look at the possible players that Mourinho might put on the pitch.

Mourinho has been preparing for this final for quite a few weeks now. Before the semi-finals were played out he made his intentions and focus very clear. He told in a press conference that if Man Utd were to reach the finals he will have no other choice but to rest a lot of first team players for their Premier League games.

And that is exactly what he did. Mourinho chose a very second string side for his final league game against Crystal Palace. He handed out debuts to a host of academy players. And he has been trying to keep his first team squad as fresh as possible.

Team News:

Romero will be the first choice keeper in the final as he has been for the whole of the Europa League.

Mourinho’s first big miss at Stockholm will be Eric Bailly. Bailly is suspended after receiving a red card in the semis. Marcos Rojo is also missing from action. So the manager will likely go with the central defensive partnership of Jones and Blind.

Valencia will definitely resume his right back role while Darmian will be handed the left-back position.

Herrera has been one of the key figures for United under the Mourinho regime and he will most definitely start in midfield in a deep holding role. Pogba will also be back in midfield after having just played 45 minutes against Palace.

With Fellaini a doubt after a hamstring injury, Micheal Carrick is likely to play in midfield.

Mourinho will definitely opt for pace upfront. Lingard and Mkhitaryan are to play at either wing while Rashford will play as the lone striker.

Man Utd predicted XI:

Goalkeeper: Romero.

Defense: Valencia, Jones, Blind, Darmian.

Midfield: Herrera, Pogba, Carrick.

Attack: Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Rashford.
