Last week Man Utd came out with the list of all the players that had been released by the club. And Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s name was on it.

United have decided not to provide a new contract to Zlatan owing to an ACL injury that will keep the Swede out of action till 2018.

The Ex-PSG player joined United as a free agent last summer. And immediately he settled in under the Jose Mourinho system. He went on to have a wonderful season for United scoring 28 goals in all competitions. But an unfortunate injury cut short his season and he missed almost a month of footballing action towards the end of the season.

But now it looks as if Zlatan could very well feature in United’s plans next season. As per reports, the United board might just look to offer him a short-term contract at the club. He has also been given access to the training grounds at Carrington to help his rehabilitations. This means that Zlatan is likely going to train with the United first team squad all throughout the Premier League season.

Ibrahimovic is likely to be out of action until 2018. So if he can recover quick enough then Mourinho might just sign him back during the January transfer window.

After releasing the Swede, Mourinho is now without any top class striker amongst his ranks. But is the tabloids are to be believed then United has already agreed on a deal with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata. The deal is said to be done and dusted with the official announcement expected to be made within this week.
