Manchester United brought back the gap at the top of the table to 11 points after their 2-1 win against West Brom at the Hawthorns. The win though was anything but comfortable.

Here are the Manchester United player ratings:

David de Gea: 6.5/10

Did not have much to do throughout the game and was helpless during the West Brom goal.

Phil Jones: 7/10

Stuck to his defensive job pretty well.

Ashley Young: 7.5/10

Played both as a left-back and a right-back during the game. Also, put in the cross through which Lukaku scored the first goal of the match.

Antonio Valencia: 7/10

Put in a good shift but had to be substituted in the second half with an injury.

Chris Smalling: 7/10

No major talking points. Stuck to his job.

Jesse Lingard: 7.5/10

Scored United’s second goal of the night through a deflection.

Marcus Rashford: 7/10

Was eventful down the flank and made some good runs. Other than that did not have anything special to offer.

Juan Mata: 7.5/10

Had the license to roam around the opponents penalty box and made good use of it by linking to both Lingard and Rashford.

Ander Herrera: 5/10

Was another below average performance from the Spaniard. No creativity whatsoever.

Nemanja Matic: 7.5/10

Typical Matic performance.

Romelu Lukaku: 7/10

Scored the first goal of the game but other than that was invisible as usual.

Substitute:

Marcos Rojo: 6.5/10

Came in the second half in place of the injured Valencia and played as a left-back. No major talking points.

Anthony Martial: N/A

Scott McTominay: N/A
