Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho chose a rather inexperienced and youthful side to face Crystal Palace on the final matchday. But it was no surprise. With the Europa League final coming up, everyone knew this would happen.

Manchester United player ratings:

Joel Pereira: 6.5/10

Pereira was defined by Mourinho as the next best goalkeeper for Portugal. Though he had a wobbly start to the match. But slowly and steadily he grew into it.

Fosu-Mensah: 7/10

Fosu-Mensah was a bit reckless at times and he almost conceded a goal. But he did recover in time to make a last ditch tackle.

Bailly: 7/10

Bailly had a full game owing to the fact that he will miss the Stockholm final. He handled Benteke with minimal effort and was calmed and composed throughout the match.

Phill Jones: 6.5/10

Defended brilliantly and held the defensive line quite well.

Demetri Mitchell: 7.5/10

Mitchell came up with a fine performance on his debut. He provided great support to Harrop.

Scott McTominay: 6/10

Also making his debut. No major talking points.

Axel Tuanzebe: 7.5/10

This was by far the best game Tuanzebe has had in his recent outings.

Paul Pogba: 8.5/10

Paul Pogba played only the first half of the match given the fact that he will also start in the Europa final. But 45 minutes was enough for the Frenchman to reap havoc. He assists Harrop’s first goal brilliantly with a neat outside of the foot pass. And scored a second himself to give United a comfortable two goal lead.

Josh Harrop: 8.5/10

Harrop was also one of the debutants for United on the night. And he left his mark all over the match with a fine curling effort. Having received the ball from Pogba he ran into the box, outwitted two defenders and scored a brilliant curler.

Jesse Lingard: 8/10

The kind of performance that he has given on the night, he will surely be one of the names to start in Stockholm. He also assisted United’s second goal scored by Pogba.

Wayne Rooney: 6.5/10

Rooney may very well have played his last game for Manchester United. He did have a fair enough game with no major talking points. Except one when he tried to audaciously lob the Crystal Palace goalkeeper.

Substitutes:

Michael Carrick: 7/10

Brought his much-needed experience to the match and effectively played as a screen for the back four.

Antony Martial: 5.5/10

Martial has a bad outing as he gave away the ball a numerous number of times due to his recklessness.

Angel Gomes: N/A
