Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan are set to play their third I-League match on the 17th of January, 2017 at the Rabindra Sarovar Stadium in Kolkata.

This is the third straight home game for the mariners as they face Minerva Academy from Punjab. Haitian star Sony Norde is set to play his first game of the season for Mohun Bagan after having landed in Kolkata last week.

Mohun Bagan supporters were eagerly waiting for their Haitian star to arrive and as soon as he landed in Kolkata there was a large contingent of Bagan supporters to greet the star at the airport. Norde’s addition to the starting lineup with be a huge positive boost for the Bagan team as well as their supporters.

Mohun Bagan have won both their matches in the I-League this season. In the first match, they defeated Churchill Brothers thanks to a single goal from forward Balwant Singh. In the second match, they came up against Shillong Lajong. They won that match thanks to a brace from Scottish striker Darryl Duffy but the performance from the mariners was not up to the mark. They failed to bring back the spark and flair with which they have been playing for the past two seasons.

After this, Mohun Bagan travel to play two away matches, and hence coach Sanjay Sen will be eager to gather all the three points from this match.
