French club Saint Etienne are said to be preparing a January bid for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi seems to be happy with life at Stamford Bridge even with the lack of starts as he is very much the second choice striker behind Alvaro Morata. And the Ligue 1 side are hoping that they can entice the Belgian by offering him a much important role in the first team setup.

But in order to do that, Saint Etienne will have to make a huge financial sacrifice as Michy currently receives somewhere in the region of €300k a month at Chelsea while the Ligue 1 outfit work under a salary cap system and they have never given a player more than €100k a month.

But Le Foot claims that Saint Etienne are willing to take that gamble in order to add a bit of flair to their attacking lineup.

Reports also suggest that Chelsea might let go of Batshuayi during the January transfer window if the right offer comes by but before that, the west London outfit want to find a suitable replacement for the 24-year-old.
