Man City’s Patrick Roberts spent last season on loan at Scottish side Celtic. He spent 18 months with the Scottish outfit.
Roberts is being courted by OGC Nice and a couple of Premier League sides including Southampton but is said to prefer a move back to Celtic Park.
Roberts was an integral part of Celtic’s stunning League campaign which saw them win the League undefeated.
The diminutive winger scored 9 times and assisted a further 8 times last season to cap off an impressive campaign on both the personal front as well for the team. His previous loan stint saw him score 6 times as well in 9 starts and he seems to enjoy his time with The Bhoys.
Celtic assistant Chris Davies confirmed on Monday that his club maintain “a constant dialogue” with Roberts.
“There is always going to be a home for him here if that suits everybody,” Davies said.
“They have been talking and the situation is always open to a certain extent because the transfer window is still open.
“We’ve got the players that are with us working and fighting right now, we’ve been scoring and creating goals, so if something extra happens then it’s all positive, but if not, we’re OK.”

“All I know from our part is that we value the player, rate the player, and I’m sure if it was right for everybody then something would be done,” said Davies.
“But we can’t really control that at the moment. We just focus on our work here and see how that one evolves.
“Pat at the moment is playing for Man City, he’s featured for them, so I can’t comment too much on it.”
OGC Nice have shown concrete interest in the promising winger but they have recently made a big signing in the form of Allan Saint-Maximin from AS Monaco who plays in a position similar to that of Roberts.
Patrick is ready to tell his parent club that he wants to move back to Scotland but Manchester City do not see value in that move. People at City believe that Roberts could do with a step up in competition rather than ply his trade in what turned out to be a no competition for his Celtic side under Brendan Rogers. The only drawback of this could be the fact that he might end up warming the bench of a bigger club which is the last thing he needs at this stage of his development as a player.
Considering this stage of the window, it would be best for him to in fact move to Celtic, a team where he is fairly comfortable with and perhaps the best for his development.
