Former Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is close to signing Carlos Pena and bring him back to Mexico – according to reports.

Pena joined the Ibrox outfit during the summer transfer window but the 27-year-old has failed to impress the new Rangers boss Graeme Murty since he took over the reigns in October. And now reports from Mexico are claiming that Pedro Caixinha wants the player back in Mexico in order to join Cruz Azul.

Pena has made just 8 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season and most have them have come before Graeme Murty took charge of Rangers. The Rangers fans are also not very happy with the midfielder and want to see a couple of new signings during the January transfer window.

According to movazul.com, Pedro Caixinha wants to sign Carlos Pena on a loan for the remainder of the season which an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
