The summer transfer window had its fair share of fairy tales as well as heart break. While some players got their dream moves(read Chamberlain) others were stuck with their current clubs with nowhere else to go.
And one such player was Liverpool’s, Philippe Coutinho. According to the latest reports, the Liverpool forward was seen crying after his dream move to Barcelona broke down.
Spanish tabloid Mundo Deportivo claim that the emotions got the better of the Brazilian and he burst out into tears.
Barcelona view Philippe Coutinho as the long term replacement for Andres Iniesta and the Catalans tried real hard to bring in the player but even a bid of around £135 million was not enough to convince the Reds to sell off Coutinho.
Liverpool were so adamant to hold onto him that the Fenway Sports Group – Liverpool’s owner released an official statement claiming that they would not part ways with Coutinho.
So Coutinho is stuck with Liverpool for one more season.
