According to a report in the Spanish daily SPORT, PSG have made contact with Phillipe Coutinho’s agent in order to discuss a potential move for the Brazilian during the next summer.
Coutinho has his heart set on a move to Barcelona but Liverpool so far have closed the door on the Catalans’ faces everytime they have come asking for the player. Liverpool’s owners FSG have declined multiple bids for Coutinho during the course of the summer claiming that the player was not up for sale.
But this denial led to a sort of a rift between Coutinho and the Liverpool management. And now it looks as if the Merseyside team are willing to offload the player if someone comes with a crazy amount. Hence the deal looks straight up PSG’s alley.
The French outfit have already broken the transfer record this season by some distance with their acquisition of Neymar and now Unai Emery wants Coutinho to partner his Brazilian teammate at PSG.
While it looks quite evident that Liverpool are going of offload Coutinho but whether that will be in January or next summer is anybody’s guess.
Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Barcelona are having second thoughts on whether to buy Coutinho or not. As per the news, the Barcelona management are having lengthy discussions whether they should refrain from spending such a crazy sum of money on Coutinho.
