Real Madrid’s first signing during the January transfer window is sure to bring some good news for Manchester United.

Real Madrid have moved pretty close to making their first signing of the January transfer window in the form of Athletic Bilbao keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga. The 23-year-old’s current deal with at the San Mames expires next summer after the club and the player failed to reach an agreement over a new deal.

Real president Florentino Perez has been wanting to consolidate the No 1 position for quite some time now by signing Man Utd keeper David De Gea. But up until now, the Red Devils have been successful in keeping hold of their prized assets. Now though it looks as if Zinedine Zidane has grown fed up with all the delay and wants Kepa to be his new long-term No 1.

Man Utd breathed a bit easy after Real’s current goalkeeper Keylor Navas had a fine last season as many people thought that Real were happy with the performances of Navas and will not be interested in signing De Gea anymore. But that scenario has changed drastically this season as Navas has been performing very badly and there have also been reports that the keeper wants to move out of the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

But now with the signing of Kepa, Real Madrid look to have finally given up hope on signing David Dea Gea and will now look to concentrate on making the 23-year-old the best in the business.
