So it is finally happening. After weeks and weeks of speculation, Barcelona have finally accepted that Neymar is moving to PSG and they will accept a world record fee for the transfer. But while the transfer process is still under way, many people across the world are wondering why did not some of the so-called rich clubs in England go after the Brazilian. And one name – Manchester United, in particular, has created a few doubts amongst many pundits, more so when the red half of Manchester had previously shown a desire to sign the Brazilian.

But now according to a report in the Independent, it is being said that the real reason why Manchester United did not go after Neymar – given the fact that he was truly available, was because the club were tired of getting disappointed over and over again. United have shown an interest in buying the player in the past but every time they have just come to one simple conclusion – that Neymar uses this ‘transfer interest’ to get an improved salary from Barcelona. So when this time United got the news that Neymar was available again, the management thought it was just a repeat of the previous scenarios. But little did they know that Neymar was indeed willing to move out of Camp Nou in search of a fresh challenge.

Even if United had made a bid for the Brazilian superstar, they would always be lagging behind in that race. Simply because the 25-year-old wanted to move to a club where he could be the central focus of the team. And at United, he would not possibly get that opportunity cause the Red Devils already have Paul Pogba who was assured that a team would be built around him when he moving from Juventus to United.

Manchester United also missed out on Neymar because it is the club’s general policy not to active release clauses, due to various complications and the Red half of Manchester are also very rigid when it comes to payment structures. While PSG on the other hand, have no such problem.
