Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has announced his traveling squad for the Leganes game this midweek. And the biggest absentees are definitely Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

But there is no injury concern for both the players. Zidane has just decided to give a much-needed break to his charismatic attacking duo. He has also left out midfield star Tony Kroos from his traveling contingent.

Zidane has selected Benzema, Lucas, Mariano and Morata as his main attacking men for the match. Another big absentee from the match is French international Raphael Varane. The center back limped out of Saturday’s victory against Alaves.

Zidane later confirmed that it was a leg injury which prompted him to take off Varane. According to the initial reports, Varane could be set to miss a string of important clashes. He might be out for the games against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid. Although this is a major setback for Zidane and his men, but it also opens up doors for Pepe to get back into the team and reclaim his center back role.

Zidane’s men are top of the league with 68 points. But they may very well see themselves slip down to the second spot if Barcelona manages to win their respective match. The pressure will definitely be on Zidane’s men to win the match against Leganes and reclaim their top spot.

The Real Madrid squad for the Leganes game is as follows:
