The 150th Rivierderby ended 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes. The game saw goals from Aubameyang and Thilo Kehrer.

Dortmund who are searching for that automatic qualification to the Champions League made a dream start in the match. Things were all going according to plan for Thomas Tuchel’s side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the yellow and black brigade in the lead in the 53rd minute. This was Aubameyang’s 24th league goal of the season.

Tuchel’s side looked all set to win the match. But then on the 77th minute Schalke academy graduate Thilo Kehrer put the ball into the back of Dortmund’s net and literally brought the roof down at the Veltins Arena. After the draw, Dortmund are currently 4th in the league just one point behind Hoffenheim.

Sending off the referee:

The final whistle saw quite a funny incident as Schalke’s mascot Erwin jokingly flashed a red card at referee Felix Zwayer. The mascot was indicating a sending off of the match referee. Even though the match referee wasn’t too pleased with the whole sending off but the situation in totality was quite funny. The mocking red card incident was due to the fact that Zwayer overlooked a series of penalty shouts for the home team during the match.

One brave soul:

Pictures have emerged on social media of a brave heart Dortmund supporter sitting alone in between a sea of blue-clad Schalke contingent. The lady has gathered immense popularity on the social media and Dortmund’s Marc Barta has called out on Twitter to identify the lady. He wants to gift her his shirt as a sign of respect and loyalty to Borussia Dortmund.
