Mark Hughes is all set to bring in his seventh signing of the summer as Stoke City are on the verge of completing a deal for Tottenham Hotspurs’ Kevin Wimmer.

Spurs and Stoke have agreed on a £15 million deal for the Austrian International. Wimmer has travelled to the Midlands on Sunday following Spurs’ one all draw at Wembley against Burnley. He is set to have a medical on Monday after which the deal will be made official.

Kevin Wimmer joined Tottenham back in 2015 from German side FC Köln. And since then the 24-year-old has made only 31 appearances for the North London club. But that does not undermine the fact that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has once again done a wonderful piece of business by selling Kevin Wimmer to Mark Hughes.

Spurs bought the then 22-year-old for a fee of around £5 million. And they have just managed to make a profit of £10 million on a player who has not even featured in the first team setup.

Clubs like Crystal Palace and West Brom also had interest in the player and the latter had even agreed upon a fee for Wimmer. But that eventually cooled off after West Brom manager Tony Pulis decided to focus on other targets.
