Tottenham Hotspur were held to a goalless draw by a resilient and gritty Sunderland side. David Moyes will be absolutely thrilled with the performance of his side. Spurs dominated almost every aspect of the match but it did not reflect on the scoreline.

Bag full of chances, but no breakthrough:

Spurs had  72 percent possession in the match and had 14 shots. Spurs made more than double passes compared to Sunderland and also had 757 touches throughout the pitch. Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Dele Alli all had some great chances to give Tottenham the lead but they were kept out by the Black Cats’ defense. Mauricio Pochettino will definitely feel that this was an opportunity lost as Spurs could have moved closer to Chelsea if they had managed to win it.

Spurs are currently second in the league table with 47 points. Just above London rivals Arsenal on goal difference. Spurs will next face Middlesbrough in the Premier League at White Hart Lane on Saturday. Pochettino will definitely be hoping to gather all three points from this next fixture.
