Barcelona have been chasing Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho frantically for the past few weeks. The Reds are adamant that Coutinho will not be sold but Barcelona are just not ready to give up. The Catalan giants have made several unsuccessful bids for the Brazilian – the latest one being the region of £118 million.

And with all this desperation, everyone felt that the Barcelona management wanted to find a replacement to Neymar before the transfer window came to a close. But now it looks as if Barca want Philippe Coutinho for a totally different reason.

In a rather candid interview with El Pais, Barcelona legend and midfielder Andres Iniesta has claimed that he might just be on his way out of the club. Iniesta’s current contract with the club runs out in 2018 and the Spanish maestro revealed that he has not yet signed a new deal. He also went on to say that him leaving Camp Nou before his contract ends is a realistic possibility

Iniesta said, “Was there really a possibility of leaving Barca? As a matter of fact, I still haven’t signed a new contract.

“I’ve felt many things that I hadn’t before, but I think they’re normal. It’s a scenario that three years ago, I certainly could never have imagined… Let’s just say that now I think about the future, when I didn’t before.”

The 33-year-old was also asked about his alleged strained relationship with Luis Enrique. But Iniesta chose to give a rather diplomatic answer.

“Relationship with Luis Enrique? I don’t know what’s being said in the Press, but the boss managed me the way he did because he thought it was best for the team and I, regardless of whether I talked to him or not.”

“I had a lot of respect for the boss, although sometimes I didn’t see things like he did.”
