Tottenham Hotspur have finally offloaded Vincent Janssen from amongst their ranks as the North London clubs announced today that the striker will move to Turkey in order to join Fenerbahce.

The Turkish transfer window is still open and Fenerbahce today announced that the Dutch International has signed for them on a season-long loan.

This loan move virtually ends Janssen’s career as a Spurs player and most likely the contract with Fenerbahce will have an option-to-buy clause at the end of the loan term. Janssen joined the Lilywhites last summer for a fee of around £17 million. But since his arrival, he has found it really difficult to break into the first team setup especially due to the superb form of Harry Kane.

A few days back a Dutch newspaper had claimed that Spurs were desperately trying to offload Vincent and that Daniel Levy had grown impatient with the player. As per the report, Spurs had offered Janssen to the likes of West Brom as well as Brighton but the Dutchman chose to stay at the club and give his career one more chance.

But the deadline day acquisition of Fernando Llorente seems to have changed everything. After the arrival of Llorente, Janssen has now become the third choice striker for Mauricio Pochettino and hence he felt that it would be wise enough for him to move out of the club.

Even though the journey to Turkey is on the basis of a loan deal but we feel this is presumably the end of his North London career.
