Tottenham Hotspur are set to lose yet another transfer target as Sassuolo’s Grégoire Defrel is on the verge of joining AS Roma.
According to a report in Football Italia, Roma are preparing to sign the forward on a loan deal initially after which the deal will be made permanent with a €20 million transfer fee. The report also suggests that the fee could rise up to €23 million if the bonuses are taken into account.
Defrel’s current club Sassuolo and Roma have already reached an agreement on the transfer and the Frenchman is said to join his new teammates for their pre-season tour of USA by Thursday.
The 26-year-old who scored 16 goals in the last season, had been a long time target of a few Premier League clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham.
