Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Luis Suarez as Barcelona are eyeing a move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann – according to reports.

Barcelona have seriously dented Manchester United’s hopes in the past month or so by going after Antoine Griezmann quite aggressively. Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde wants to freshen up his line-up and is looking at the Frenchman as the right man for the job. And on the other hand Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to use this situation to his own advantage.

If Barcelona were to sign Griezmann then the one person whose place in the first eleven will really be under threat is that of former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez. And Spanish news outlet Don Balon claim that the Lilywhites have already made an initial contact with Luiz Suarez regarding a potential switch.

Pochettino knows very well that it will be very tough to hold onto Harry Kane if Spurs do not win any silver ware and it seems as if the Spurs manager has identified Luis Suarez as the ideal replacement.

But the report also claims that the Uruguyan currently does not feel any kind of threat from the Griezmann transfer and has refused to think hard on the offer from Spurs.
