Former Man United manager David Moyes is the new boss at West Ham and in a recent interview with Radio 5, the manager has revealed details of some of the players that he wanted to sign for Manchester United. And one of them was current Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas.

Moyes has revealed that Fabregas wanted to move out of Barcelona, fearing that he was not going to fit into manager Tata Martino’s plans and was also keen on joining United.

Moyes said, “Cesc Fabregas, who I spoke to on the phone several times, was not sure of his place in the Barcelona team.

I remember him saying to me ‘if I don’t start the first game at Barcelona then I’ll definitely be looking to join you’ and he started the first game at Barcelona,”

But as luck would have it, Fabregas played in that particular match against Levante and the Catalans won it with a scoreline of 7-0 – prompting Fabregas to stay back in Barcelona for one more season. 12 months later though the scenario was completely different as Fabregas was no longer content with life in Catalonia and wanted to shift bases. By that time David Moyes was no longer the manager of United and Jose Mourinho quickly arrived at the scene and scooped up the Spaniard for Chelsea.

So when you come to think of it, if Fabregas wouldn’t have started that game against Levante then he could very well have been a Manchester United player now.
