Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw might be on his way out this summer after Jose Mourinho claimed that he was still not convinced with Luke Shaw’s focus and ambition.

Talking to the press United boss said that Shaw’s focus and ambition were a long way off. The England international was yet to convince on the training ground. Mourinho also stated that Luke Shaw will not feature in the starting lineup this midweek as United take on Everton.

In the press conference, Mourinho said, “I cannot compare the way he trains, the way he commits, the focus, the ambition. I cannot compare. He is a long way behind.” This is Shaw’s third season with United after having joined the club in 2014 from Southampton. He is just 21 years old as of now and came to United as a youngster with huge potential. But this year it has been a totally different story. He has fallen out of Mourinho’s list of favourites. Mourinho has chosen the likes of Ashley Young and Daley Blind over Luke Shaw this season.

The Englishman has managed to play just twice since November. Valencia having virtually made the right back position his Mourinho has a lot of other options for the leg back role. Namely Ashley Young, Daley Blind, and Matteo Darmian. So if Shaw does not improve his work ethics and efforts on the training ground then Mourinho will have no other option but to sell him off in the summer transfer window.
