What does Arsene Wenger do with Alexis Sanchez now?

When Alexis Sanchez refused to sign a new contract at the end of last season everyone knew that the Chilean will be trying to force a move out of the Emirates during the summer. And the fact that Guardiola wanted him at Man City added more fuel to the fire.

But Arsene Wenger was stubborn and claimed that Alexis Sanchez would be staying in London through the length of his contract even if that meant letting him go for free next summer. And now as the transfer window has come to a close, Wenger has stuck to his words.

Manchester City tried desperately to bring Alexis Sanchez on board and during the final hours on deadline day, some reports even claimed that Guardiola made an offer of £70 million. But Arsenal did not sell off the Chilean. And this was primarily because the Gunners were unable to find a replacement for him.

As soon as Thomas Lemar rejected a move to Arsenal, Wenger blocked Sanchez’s exit.

But the million dollar question is that how does Wenger handle this situation since Sanchez will be at the club for another season?

A few reports claim that Sanchez has lost all motivation of playing for the Gunners and his desire to leave is stronger than ever. He has also threatened to go on a strike. But we doubt if he would do such a thing.

Wenger too realises that it will be very hard for him to bring back the hunger that Sanchez once possessed. But there is also no denying that Wenger needs him.

It is being said that Man City still want Sanchez and will return back in January will a new bid. But we doubt if Arsene Wenger will let go of Alexis Sanchez in the middle of a season – more so when he needs to get back to playing Champions League football.

And can the Gunners boss convince the Chilean to sign a new deal?
