Will this man be Chelsea’s third striker?

Chelsea have had one of the worst summer transfer windows amongst the top six clubs of England. And one of the major concerns for Antonio Conte will be the fact that he was unable to bring in a partner for Alvaro Morata.

For a brief period, Chelsea did look to have agreed on a deal for Swansea’s Fernando Llorente but then Tottenham Hotspur picked up the player during the final hours on Thursday and spoiled Chelsea’s party.

Chelsea have also sold off the likes of Loic Remy and Dominic Solanke from amongst their ranks which means that Conte is stuck with Alvaro Morata as the main striker and Michy Batshuayi as his likely partner for the whole season.

This isn’t enough though, especially with the Blues attacking all fronts.

The Champions League games will kick off from this month and within no time at all the other competitions will also come thick and fast. And with only two recognized strikers amongst their ranks, it will be impossible for Chelsea to pose any real threat all throughout the season.

But Conte might just have found a solution to this problem. And it is none other than Diego Costa.

Costa had a fall out with the Blues manager and since then he has been spending his time in exile in Brazil. But that hasn’t stopped Conte from naming the Spaniard in his 25 man Premier League squad.

Is this the Italian’s way of making friends with Costa again?

Diego Costa wanted to move back to Atletico Madrid during the summer but somehow that deal did not materialize but it is for sure that he will head to Spain in January. And by the looks of it, Antonio Conte is trying to utilize the Spaniard as long as he is a Chelsea player.

Whether Costa will return back to Chelsea is anybody’s guess but with his inclusion, in the squad, Conte has made it quite clear that he is needed.
