Will Wenger stay on for another year?

Arsene Wenger is the current manager of the Arsenal Football Club. But for the past six months, he would have felt like he has been playing a tug of war. A tug of war with his career.

There have been times in the past season when fans have asked Wenger to leave. But none of those protests have been so strong and overwhelming as compared to this season.

Arsenal have had a woeful season. They have failed to qualify for the Champions League after ages. And all the blame has landed on the shoulders of Wenger. The Frenchman virtually had his head under a gulotine. And with each bad result the blade would seemingly get lower.

But now that Arsenal have managed to win the FA Cup, Wenger can relax a bit. Or atleast we think so. The Arsenal board are scheduled to hold a meeting on Tuesday where the fate of the Frenchman will be decided. And an annoucement is expected to be made by Wednesday.

The Arsenal bosses are keen to give Wenger a new contract. They always have been. But the fans don’t like that. They want Wenger to leave. It’s as simple as that. At first they were polite with their concerns but with each passing day the crowd has turned into an angry mob.

Arsene wants to stay. It’s as clear as water. Even after opposition from the fans. But will he be able to persuade the board into giving him a new contract. That’s the biggest question now.

After the FA Cup win the protests have been somewhat muted amongst celebrations but what happens if Wenger manages to get a new contract? How will the fans react to it?
