Chelsea might need to change their stance towards the signing of PSG winger Lucas Moura.

Antonio Conte has been wanting to sign the Brazilian for quite some time now and this was mainly due to the fact that the current Brazilian in his team – Willian had a terrible dip of form. But now the winger’s sudden resurgence has caused a bit of a headache for the Blues management.

Willian had fallen way down the pecking order since the start of the season and it was getting difficult for him to get proper game time. This gave rise to multiple reports that the 29-year-old might well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window. But during the past couple of weeks, Willian had sort of re-invented himself and has played an integral part in the first XI.

The winger scored the equaliser against Liverpool and was also involved in all the four goals against Qarabag during the Champions League fixture. This, in turn, has helped him win back the confidence of his manager – Antonio Conte, according to various sources.

And now French publication Le10 Sport are reporting that Chelsea might scrap plans to sign Lucas Moura during the January transfer window thanks to Willian’s rich vein of form.

Moura has not featured heavily in PSG manager Unai Emery’s plans this season and there were reports that the French outfit was planning to offload him during the winter in order to avoid the FFP breach. And Chelsea were the frontrunners to sign the Brazilian. The Blues had also made plans to sell off Willian in order to accommodate his fellow Brazilian with Willian said to be on his way to join former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. But now it seems that all these plans have been shelved and Conte has decided to put his faith back on the 29-year-old rather than splurge loads of cash in bringing a new recruit.
