Victor Osimhen is going to leave Napoli and as things stand, the 25-year-old striker is likely to join the Premier League in the coming weeks.

Chelsea and Ligue 1 side PSG have a long-standing interest in the Nigerian striker but it looks like it’s going to be Arsenal who are the current favourites to sign him up. Osimhen just signed a new contract with Napoli last summer but his relationship with the club has not been great which is why the Serie A side are now ready to cash in on him.

He’s scored 15 goals in 25 league appearances this season backing his stellar silverware-winning performances from the previous campaign and thanks to that new contract, Napoli has been able to add a release clause which is said to be around €120-130 million.

Will Victor Osimhen end up at Arsenal?

The first major reason why we think Arsenal are standing at the front of the queue is because the North London side seems to be the only major side who are seriously interested in the 25-year-old.

“Osimhen we assume that he will go. At the moment there is only Arsenal who are far from the clause. If he were to leave, and at the moment it is not certain, the very first choice would be Lukaku, the alternative is Dovbyk from Girona,” Di Marzio has recently told Il Napolista.

“Napoli are also studying a solution for Lindstrom that Lyon likes. Napoli is looking for Cambiaghi.”

Osimhen’s release clause seems to have put doubts into Chelsea and according to The Athletic, the Blues are now prioritising Benjamin Sesko.

PSG are also walking on the same line as Chelsea because according to a report from L’Équipe, the French side has made no advances towards Victor Osimhen as their interest seems to have cooled off.

The second major reason why Arsenal are most likely to add Victor Osimhen to their squad is because they have players that Napoli could take in a swap deal.

As per the rumours, the Serie A side are interested in Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe and if the Gunners are willing to add these two players in a cash-plus-player deal then Victor Osimhen could land up at the Emirates.

It’s pretty evident that the striker’s time at Napoli is up and he is more than eager to play under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League. Now, with Chelsea and PSG possibly out of the picture, Arsenal are running a one-horse race for Victor Osimhen and the only thing left for them to do is to reach a middle ground with the Serie A side.
