Chelsea today confirmed in an official announcement that the club had finally reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid on the sale of Diego Costa. But now it looks as if the Spaniard’s reunion with his old club is not such a good news for Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho has been wanting to sign Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann for a long time now. The Frechman seemed very close to a move this summer but that eventually fell apart after a transfer embargo was issued on his current club. Due to the ban, Atletico would not be able to sign any player until January and that is why Griezmann decided to stay back and help him team out.
But most pundits were confident that once the transfer ban was lifted Manchester United would go back for the forward. Now though it looks as if the Red Devils might face a hard time in getting the player to shift loyalties.
As soon as Diego Costa’s deal was announced Antoine Griezmann made a tweet when welcomed his old pal back home. And if we were to decipher this tweet it feels as if the 26-year-old is fully committed to Atletico Madrid and is not moving out anytime soon.
