According to Madrid-based newspaper AS, Alvaro Morata’s move to Manchester United is on the verge of completion.
As per the paper, which is generally a very relaible source for Madrid based news, Manchester United are waiting for Alvaro Morata’s honeymoon to get over. Once the Spanish international returns from his honeymoon the transfer is expected to be completed.
Mourinho who is in desparate need of a striker after releasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has selected Morata as his long term man. Last month Man Utd had made an initial offer for 24-year-old. But it was rejected by Madrid, forcing United to make a revised bid.
But now it looks as if everything is done and dusted. And everyone is waiting for Morata’s honeymoon to finish. Morata has already played under Mourinho as it was the Portuguese who handed the player his debut during his Madrid days. Since that time Madrid have chosen to sell the player off to Juventus and then buy him back after triggering a buy back clause.
But since returning from Juventus Morata has mostly played a second fiddle for Zinedine Zidane. Failing to make a permanent player in the attacking line. And now Morata is desparate to move out of Madrid and United seems to be his next destination.
If the deal eventually goes through then Morata will be the second signing for United this transfer window after the club signed Lindelof a couple of weeks back.
