Manchester United are set to push for a move to try and bring Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale to Old Trafford by the end of this month – as per reports.

Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 but the Welsh International has been unable to carve a niche for himself in the first XI. His time at the Bernabeu has been constantly hampered by injuries and now Zinedine Zidane has finally decided to offload him in order to make way for some fresh talents.

Manchester United have been linked to Gareth Bale for the longest time and it looked as if Jose Mourinho will go after the winger only at the end of the current season. But now it seems that the Old Trafford outfit will try and get the player by the end of January.

The Express suggests that the Red Devils have shifted gears and will most likely place a bid for Gareth Bale within this week.

Recently reports suggested that Bale has told Florentino Perez his desire to move out of Spain and he is quite open to returning back to the Premier League. But it seems that he prefers to join Manchester United or even for that matter his old club Spurs rather than go to Chelsea.

While Manchester United are preparing a bid for Gareth Bale, Jose Mourinho might face some stiff competition from Chinese heavyweights Guangzhou Evergrande, who are more than willing to pay Bale’s asking price of £85 million.
