Juventus have given up the chase to sign Arsenal forward Mesut Ozil – as per reports.

Apart from Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil is another star player whose contract expires at the end of the season and the German is most likely on his way out of the Emirates.

A series of top European clubs have shown interest in signing the German playmaker. Clubs like Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus are all expected to chase the player once he becomes a free agent in the summer.

But now according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the Juventus management have decided not to pursue Mesut Ozil anymore.

Juventus’ hierarchy have informed Ozil’s representatives that they are not too keen to sign the player during the summer as he is not one of the club’s priorities right now.

With the Serie A outfit seemingly out of the picture, both Manchester United and Barcelona are the only teams left in the race to sign Ozil.

Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the former Real Madrid man and the Portuguese was expected to launch a January transfer bid for Ozil. But now the plan has been shelved more so since United are going to sign Alexis Sanchez.
